CEGEA Chili and Soup Supper
Since the 1980-1981 school year, CEGEA (Congerville, Eureka, Goodfield Education Association) has raised funds for scholarships awarded to Eureka High School seniors. CEGEA believes that higher education is to be valued and rewards those educational efforts. The number of scholarships has varied with the amount of money available and the number of qualified applicants during the year. The first recipients were Carolyn Martin, Randy Knapp, Laurie McDonald Ward, and Todd Zimmerman. Early moneymaking efforts included down pillow cleaning, but in recent history, the chili supper – originally held at a football game – has been the main source of income.
Each applicant submits an essay stating why they are deserving of this scholarship and completes an interview with a panel of teachers.

EUREKA project completed
Thanks to Jose Hildrogo for completing his eagle scout project at EHS. His project consisted of leveling the surface of the hillside at the football field, laying landscape timbers in the hill, and securing the EUREKA letters to the timbers. We wish you the best of luck on finishing the requirements to become an Eagle Scout.
